6 km+1,500 m7–8 hrsYoshida 5th Station to 8th Station hut. Start on dirt, hit snow line around 7th Station. Crampons on. The hut is basic but heated by a wood stove.

Physical Prep
Fuji off-season is not a walk. It's mountaineering. You need to have used crampons before and be comfortable with cold exposure. The altitude (3,776 m) affects some people.

Mark Olsen handles gear checks personally. He'll send you a video of how to put crampons on before you arrive. On the mountain, he sets the pace. Slow is safe.
